Tosylation of some alcohols and phenols has been directly carried out with p-toluenesulfonyl chloride using heterodoxy acids (H3PW12O40, H3PMo12O40, AlPW12O40, and AlPMo12O40) as catalysts in the absence of solvent. We found that heteropoly acids AlPW12O40 and AlPMo12O40 were effective catalysts for the tosylation of alcohols and phenols. In the case of aliphatic alcohols, secondary alcohols undergo
ABSTRACT A one-pot and efficient synthesis of dialkyl dichalcogenides (S, Se) in aqueous media under catalyst-free conditions using benzylic, allylic and primary halides with elemental sulfur and selenium has been developed. Also, this procedure was extended to preparation of trisulfides and triselenides from secondary and tertiary halides in same condition. In all cases, products can be obtained in good
Macromolecules comprising triazoles and related compositions and methods are provided. In some embodiments, a macromolecule may comprise one or more repeat units including a triazole and a functionalizable pendant group. The macromolecule may also comprise one or more orthogonally addressable end groups. In some embodiments, one or more repeat units may be formed by a synthetic process that allows for precise control over stereochemistry, pendant functionality, and/or the spatial relationship (e.g., distance) between groups in the repeat unit(s). Such precise control over pendant group and repeat unit structure allows for the macromolecule functionality, stereochemistry, and spacing between groups (e.g., pendant groups) to be precisely controlled. Macromolecules described herein may be used for a wide variety of applications, including the delivery of active agents.

Δ 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) esters comprising the reaction product of THC with at least one aryl sulfonyl chloride in the presence of at least one tertiary amine. The resulting aryl sulfonic THC esters are highly crystalline and stable at room temperature in air, allowing for indefinite storage. The aryl sulfonic THC esters can be recrystallized for purification, and then hydrolyzed to recover the purified THC.

A facile and efficient method for synthesizing sulfonamides was developed using a catalytic amount of indium metal. A wide range of sulfonamides were synthesized in excellent yields using the new process. The method showed a generality for substrates including less nucleophilic and sterically hindered anilines, and it is also applicable for preparing sulfonic esters from sulfonyl chlorides and alcohols.
