  (EN) Novel compounds which are effective PDE IV inhibitors are disclosed. The compounds possess improved PDE IV inhibition as compared to theophylline or rolipram as well as with improved selectivity with regard to PDE III inhibition. In certain aspects of the invention, the compounds also demonstrate PDE V inhibition. Pharmaceutical compositions containing the same and methods of treatment are also disclosed.(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à de nouveaux composés qui sont efficaces comme inhibiteurs de la PDE IV. Ces composés possèdent un pouvoir d'inhibition de la PDE IV accrû par rapport à la théophylline ou au rolipram, ainsi qu'une sélectivité accrue par rapport à l'inhibition de la PDE III. Dans certains aspects de cette invention, ces composés présentent également un pouvoir d'inhibition de la PDE V.
