  Both alkyl and aryl chlorothioformates could readily be obtained from the corresponding alcohols and thiophosgene.   Chlorodifluoromethyl ethers are easily obtained from the corresponding alcohols. These ethers, when treated with tributyltin hydride, produce difluoromethyl ethers in high yields.
