    An object of the present invention is to provide an external preparation for the skin, which shows an excellent effect of sufficiently protecting the living body against irritants that exist in the external environments, and a polymer material to be preferably used therein. Provided is an external preparation for the skin obtained mixing a copolymer which comprises constituent units derived from monomers of the general formula (I), (II) and, if necessary, (IV) with the content of units (I) ranging from 5 to 25 wt % based on the total amount of all the constituent units, preferably with the contents of units (I), (II) and (IV) being 5 to 9.8 wt %, 30.2 to 45 wt %, and 50 to 60 wt %respectively, with other optional components. In the formula, R1 is H or C1-3 alkyl; R2 is C5-12 alkyl having 8 to 21 fluorine atoms; R3 is H or C1-3 alkyl; R4 is optionally hydroxylated C2-4 alkylene; R5 is H, a C1-20 aromatic group, a C1-20 aliphatic hydrocarbon group, or C1-20 acyl; and n is 4 to 50.

    An ink composition is provided that includes (Component a) an open-chain and/or cyclic ether bond-containing monofunctional (meth)acrylate, (Component b) one or more monofunctional ethylenically unsaturated compounds selected from the group consisting of a polycyclic aliphatic group-containing monofunctional (meth)acrylate and N-vinyl-2-caprolactam, (Component c) a polymerization initiator, (Component e) a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate at no greater than 10 wt % relative to the ink composition, and (Component f) a fluorine-substituted hydrocarbon group- or siloxane structure-containing polymer, the ratio by weight of (Component a)/(Component b) being 0.7 to 1.9. There are also provided an inkjet recording method that includes (a 1 ) an image formation step of forming an image above a recording medium by discharging the ink composition by an inkjet method and (b 1 ) a curing step of curing the ink composition by irradiating the obtained image with actinic radiation to thus obtain a cured image above the recording medium, and a process for producing a molded printed material that includes (a 2 ) an image formation step of forming an image above a recording medium by discharging the ink composition by an inkjet method, (b 2 ) a curing step of curing the ink composition by irradiating the obtained image with actinic radiation to thus obtain a printed material having a cured image above the recording medium, and (c 2 ) a molding step of molding the printed material.

    A non-hydrous soft contact lens comprising a copolymer comprising, as monomer units, 49.9 to 95 mole % of an acrylate represented by Formula (I) shown below, 0 to 10 mole % of acrylic acid or the specified ester thereof, 4.9 to 50 mole % of a methacrylate represented by Formula (II) shown below, and 0.1 to 10 mole % of a crosslinking monomer. wherein R1 is at least one selected from the group consisting of a particular straight chain fluoroalkyl group and a particular straight chain alkyl group. wherein R2 is a particular straight chain fluoroalkyl group. The present soft contact lens requires no sterilization by boiling, and has good resistance to stain, good oxygen premea- bility, good elastic recovery and good shape stability. A process for producing the above non-hydrous soft contact lens to treatment(s) of esterification and/or transesterification, is also disclosed.
