    The present invention relates to a process for preparing fused tetrahydro-[ 1 H]-triazoles of the formula I 1 where the variables R a , Z, Z 1 , X, W, n and Q are as defined in claim 1, by cyclization of compounds of the formula II 2 where R is C(X)OR 2 or C(X)SR 2 , where X is oxygen or sulfur, and R 2 is as defined in claim 1, in the presence of a base. The invention also relates to compounds of the formula I where W is sulfur if Z is a methylene group optionally substituted by R a , and furthermore to compounds of the formula I where Q is a benzoxazole or benzothiazole radical, and to the use of these compounds as herbicides.

    The present invention provides a rubber composition that is used for manufacturing a rubber excellent in weather resistance, fracture resistance and crack growth resistance, and that contains a conjugated diene compound/non-conjugated olefin copolymer, a conjugate diene-based polymer and a non-conjugated diene compound/non-conjugated olefin copolymer, a rubber composition for tire side use using the rubber composition for tire sidewall members, a crosslinked rubber composition obtained by crosslinking the rubber composition, and a tire. The rubber composition includes: (A) a conjugated diene compound/non-conjugated olefin copolymer containing a conjugated diene compound-derived unit by at least 40 mol %; (B) a conjugated diene-based polymer; and (C) a non-conjugated diene compound/non-conjugated olefin copolymer containing an ethylene-propylene-diene rubber.

    crystalline block copolymer containing at least a triblock chain represented by the formula A-B-C or containing at least a radial structure represented by the formula (D-EX in the polymer chain is provided. These triblock chains or radial structures comprise blocks of a homopolymer of a vinyl aromatic compound or a copolymer of a vinylaromatic compound with another vinylaromatic compound or a conjugated diene compound having a glass transition temperature of not lower that 50°C and a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 2,000 to 100,000 and blocks of a homopolymer of a conjugated diene compound or a copolymer of a conjugated diene compound with another conjugated diene compound or a copolymer of a conjugated diene compound having less that 20 wt.% of a vinyl aromatic compound having a glass transition temperature of not higher than 10°C and a crystallinity at 25°C and a 1,4-trans-linkage ratio in the conjugated diene portion of 80 % or higher. These crystalline block copolymers are produced by polymerization of the respective monomers in the presence of a composite catalyst comprising the catalyst components (a), (b) and (c), or (a), (b), (c) and (d), wherein (a) is an organic compound of barium or strontium; (b) is an organic compound of lithium; (c) is an organomagnesium compound; and (d) is an organoaluminum or organozinc compound. Further provided are shaped bodies obtainable by injection, extrusion or compression molding comprising such crystalline block copolymer.

    A modified polymer containing a cyclic molecular structure unit represented by general formula (I) and having a number-average molecular weight of 10,000 to 5,000,000, wherein A to F represent monomer units constituting the main chain of the polymer and they may be arranged in an arbitrary order; l to q represent each of the content (wt.-%) of the respective monomer unit A to F based on the total weight of the units A to F; A represents a cycloolefin monomer unit; B represents a conjugated cyclodiene monomer unit; C and D represent each a monomer unit copolymerizable with A and B; S to X represent modifying groups and each independently comprises a functional group bearing at least one of oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, silicon, phosphorus and halogen, or an organic acid residue containing the above functional group; and s to x represent each the content (wt.-%) of the respective group S to X. The polymer has excellent thermal characteristics and various types of modified polymer can be provided by copolymerizing various monomers in arbitrary proportions and forms in accordance with required thermal and mechanical characteristics.

    Disclosed is a resin composition comprising (α) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of a non-modified cyclic monomer unit-containing polymer and a modified cyclic monomer unit-containing polymer having a number average molecular weight of from 10,000 to 5,000,000, wherein the cyclic monomer unit is derived from a cyclic conjugated diene, and (β) at least one polymer other than the polymer (α), and wherein the polymer (α) is present in an amount of at least 1 % by weight, based on the total weight of the polymers (α) and (β). The molecular structure of the polymer (α) which is contained in the novel resin composition of the present invention and which is selected from a non-modified cyclic monomer unit-containing polymer and a modified cyclic monomer unit-containing polymer, wherein the cyclic monomer unit is derived from a cyclic conjugated diene, can be controlled with large freedom. Therefore by combining the polymer (α) with a polymer (β) other than the polymer (α), a resin composition which is excellent in various properties, such as theremal stability with respect to rigidity, and impact resistance can be provided with large freedom with respect to the choice of its properties.
