In this paper, a green and facile protocol was described which was efficient for synthesis of benzimidazolesusingnano‐Fe3O4 catalyst with continuous bubbling of air as the oxidant in PEG‐400/H2O aqueoussystem at roomtemperature. This protocol afforded the target products in good to excellent yields and the catalytic system could be recycled and reused without significant loss of catalytic activity
Novel acenaphthylene imide-derived semiconductor materials, including small molecule compounds, polymers and oligomers. Also provided are methods for making the novel semiconductor materials and the use of the novel semiconducting materials in electronic or optoelectronic device. In some embodiments, the novel semiconducting materials are used as n-channel component in organic field-effect transistors as well as complementary electronic circuits including inverters. High mobility can be achieved.
A process for the preparation of diaminodinitropyridine or diaminodinitrobenzene by contacting an aminopyridine or aminobenzene with oleum and nitric acid, wherein the improvement comprises adding at least about 1% molar excess of nitric acid, based upon the aminopyridine or aminobenzene, with stirring for at least two hours to form first the intermediate sulfonic acid, and then diaminodinitropyridine or diaminodinitrobenzene, and use of such products in the preparation of rigid rod polymers is disclosed.
