    A thermoplastic laminated film that has satisfactory adhesiveness to hydrophilic polymers, hydrophobic polymers, and inorganic substances is provided. The film comprises a base film made of thermoplastic resin and a layer formed on at least one side of said base film, wherein said layer is made of a composition comprising (a) at least one selected from the group consisting of water-soluble resins, water-emulsifiable resins, and water-dispersible resins, and (b) an organic boron polymer or a mixture composed of an organic boron polymer and vinyl alcohol polymer.

    An aqueous resin composition with excellent film formation properties is provided. The composition is obtained by polymerizing a resin (A) having at least one polar group and at least one unsaturated double bond per one molecule with a compound (B) having at least one unsaturated double bond per one molecule in an aqueous solvent containing a water soluble organic compound (D) in water (C), said compound (D) being contained in said solvent in an amount not exceeding 70%. The coated film obtained by applying the composition on a substrate has a satisfactory adhesion property, and the coated substrate is excellent in other properties such as surface hardness, workability, image clarity, gloss, and water resistance.

    A water-dispersible polyester composition for an image recording medium, comprising (1) a polyester having a glass transition temperature of not less than 40°C, a specific gravity of not less than 1.25, a value of SP of 9.5-12.0, and at least one kind of hydrophilic polar group, and which is insoluble in methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, and a mixed solvent thereof, wherein 65% by mole or more of a glycol component constituting the polyester is ethylene glycol, in a proportion of 5-50% by weight, (2) an organic compound compatible with water in a proportion of 0-20% by weight, and (3) water in a proportion of 30-95% by weight. When used for an image recording layer of an image recording medium, the composition of the invention is conducive to the durability of the recorded images excellent in heat resistance, resistance to plasticizer, resistance to fingerprint, and solvent resistance.

    The invention provides a crosslinkable aromatic resin having a protonic acid group and a crosslinkable group, suitable for electrolytic membranes and binders used in fuel cells, etc., and electrolytic polymer membranes, binders and fuel cells using the resin. The crosslinkable aromatic resin has a crosslinkable group, which is not derived from the protonic acid group and can form a polymer network without any elimination component. This resin exhibits excellent ion conductivity, heat resistance, water resistance, adhesion property and low methanol permeability. Preferably, the crosslinkable group is composed of a C1 to C10 alkyl group directly bonded to the aromatic ring and a carbonyl group, or a carbon-carbon double bond or triple bond. The aromatic resins such as aromatic polyethers, aromatic polyamides, aromatic polyimides, aromatic polyamideimides, aromatic polyazoles, etc., which contain such a crosslinkable group, are preferred as the crosslinkable aromatic resins having a protonic acid group and a crosslinkable group.
