  1,1-二苯基乙烯、1,1-双(4-氯苯基)乙烯、1,1-双(4-甲氧基苯基)乙烯、1,1-双(4-甲基苯基)乙烯、1,1-双的反应(4-氟苯基)乙烯、苯乙烯、1-辛烯、环己烯和环辛烯与三(2,4-戊二酮)锰(III) ([Mn(acac)3]) 在室温下在乙酸中生成 4-乙酰- 3-methyl-1,2-dioxan-3-ol 的产率为 8-92%，以及 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy-3-hexene-2,5-dione。1,1-二苯基乙烯与 2,4-戊二酮、3-甲基-2,4-戊二酮、3-乙基-2,4-戊二酮、1-苯基-1,3-丁二酮、乙酰乙酰苯胺和 1 ,3-环己二酮在乙酸锰 (III) 存在下也能以良好到中等的产率得到相应的环状过氧化物。讨论了锰 (III) 诱导的 1,2-二恶烷环形成和伴随的自由基副反应的机制。

  1-octene, 1-nonene, cyclohexene and cyclooctene with tris(2,4-pentanedionato)manganese(III) in acetic acid at room temperature give 4-acetyl-3-hydroxy-3-methyl- 1,2-dioxacyclohexanes in 8–92 % yields. The reactions of 1,1-disubstituted ethenes with ethyl 3-oxobutanoate or acetoacetanilide in the presence of manganese(III) acetate also give cording 1,2-dioxacyclohexanes in good to moderate yields.

  The reactions of 1,1-disubstituted ethenes with acetoacetamide or N-substituted acetoacetamides, and molecular oxygen in the presence of manganese(III) acetate gave a mixture of c-4- and t-4-carbamoyl-3-methyl-1,2-dioxan-r-3-ols in good yields.
