The synthesis of (±)-8-oxo-7β-phenylacetamido-7α-methyl-6αH-1-aza-4-thiabicyclo[4,2,0]octane-2α-carboxylic acid (5; R1= H, R2= Ph·CH2·CONH) and (±)-8-oxo-7β-phenylacetamido-7α-methyl-6αH-1-aza-4-thiabicyclo[4,2,0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid (6; R1= H, R2= Ph·CH2) are described.

One-pot tethering of organic molecules through non-symmetric malonate derivatives

A new method for one-pot chemoselective beterobifunctional cross-linking of organic molecules is described. The method is based on tert-butyldiphenylsilyl malonate and involves two sequential carbodiimide couplings with two different molecules possessing a hydroxy or an amino functionality with one intermediate one-pot fluoride deprotection.
