Starting from tetrahydronaphthalin-1-one derivatives 3a and 3b, the carbon analogues 10a and 10b of Hematoxylin and Brasilin are synthesized. The H-1-NMR- and C-13-NMR-spectra of the compounds are given. The stereochemistry of the tetracycles 10a and 10b is studied by NOE-experiments.
