    A complete synthesis of enantiopure trans-cyclopentane-1,2-diamine and trans-cyclobutane-1,2-diamine is described. These diamines have been used as components of novel chiral salen ligands whose chromium and manganese complexes were then evaluated as oxygen transfer agents in the asymmetric epoxidation of alkenes.     Acyclic, alicyclic, and aromatic bis-trimethylaminimides and a keto-substituted trimethylaminimide have been synthesized by a stepwise route of general applicability. Pyrolysis of the aliphatic aminimides resulted in a rearrangement to trimethylamine and isocyanate. The keto-isocyanate herein reported was synthesized in a convenient four-step sequence from dimethyl ketene dimer in a good yield, and provides an attractive new route to this type of difunctional compound. Pyrolysis of the bis-aminimides in the presence of polyhydroxylic materials gave polyurethanes.

    A series of half acid esters of 1-(4-biphenylyl)pentanol was synthesized and assayed for inhibition of rat liver beta-hydroxy-beta-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase. The number of methylenes separating the carboxyl and ester groups was varied from zero to six. A minimum of one methylene was required for reasonable activity. Further separation of the carboxyl and ester groups produced small changes

    The Invention discloses a preparation method for a triptyl polymer separation membrane, wherein, it comprises the following steps: take triptycene compound containing active group, dichloride compound and diamino compound containing ether bond as monomers, and conduct polymerization in aprotic organic solvent in the presence of acid-binding agent; pour the obtained polymer solution into deionized water for precipitation after the reaction, filter out precipitates and wash with methanol and dry to get triptyl polymer; dissolve the triptyl polymer in aprotic organic solvent to produce a membrane-casting solution, apply the solution on support and dry to get a triptyl polymer separation membrane. The Invention solves the problem that the reticular polymer material is insoluble, and breaks the restriction for application of such material in separation membrane due to its insoluble and aging features.
