  A detergent composition comprises a trisiloxane having at least one carbinol functional group. The trisiloxane comprises the reaction product of (A) an initial trisiloxane and (B) an organic compound. Component (A) has a pendant silicon-bonded functional group selected from a hydrogen atom, an epoxy-containing group, an ethylenically unsaturated group, and an amine group. Typically, component (A) is free of certain terminal silicon-bonded functional groups and is free of polyoxyalkylene groups.
