Palladium‐Catalyzed Pyridine Ligand‐Promoted Non‐Directed C−H Olefination of Phenol Derivatives

A non-directed ortho-olefination reaction was developed using tri-isobutyl silicon-protected phenols as substrates, palladium acetate as the catalyst, and inexpensive pyridine derivatives as ligands. Importantly, bioactive molecules such as hydroquinone, hexylresorcin, and estradiol were able to be modified to increase the applicability of the reaction.
