  描述了分两步制备各种2-烷氧基-2-苯基丙酸的方法。在甲醇或伯醇溶剂中，用m CPBA对α-甲基苯乙烯进行环氧化，然后进行酸催化的原位开环反应，得到相应的2-烷氧基-2-苯基-1-丙醇，产率为28-91％。使用仲醇（22-58％）和叔醇（14％）可实现较低的收率。使用温和的Heyns氧化（O 2，Pt / C）将这些醇干净地氧化为相应的羧酸，收率通常良好至极佳（25-92％）。派生（S）-α-甲基苄基酰胺非对映异构体几乎全部通过毛细管GC分离，并证明了使用该方法测定Brucine拆分的2-甲氧基-2-苯基丙酸的对映体纯度。
