X3SiCH2P(CH3)2 and X2Si[CH2CH2P(CH3)2]2 (X = F, Cl) can be prepared in high yield by photochemical addition of HP(CH3)2 to the vinylhalosilanes X3SiCHCH2 and X2Si(CHCH2)2, respectively. Formation of adducts between the vinylhalosilanes and HP(CH3)2 is observed as a competitive reaction.
