    Novel dissymmetric N,N-dialkylamides which meet the following formula (I): where R represents a linear or branched alkyl group at C 8 to C 15 . A method for synthesizing these N,N-dialkylamides, and to the uses of same as extractants, alone or in admixture, in order to extract uranium and/or plutonium from an aqueous acid solution, or to totally or separate uranium from plutonium from an aqueous acid solution and, in particular, an aqueous solution resulting from dissolving spent nuclear fuel in nitric acid. Further, a method for processing an aqueous solution resulting from the dissolution of a spent nuclear fuel in nitric acid, allowing the uranium and plutonium contained in the solution to be extracted, separated and decontaminated in a single cycle, without requiring any plutonium reduction operation, and in which one of the aforementioned N,N-dialkylamides or a mixture of same is used as extractant. Applications for the method include the processing of spent nuclear fuels, in particular comprising uranium (e.g. UOX) or uranium and plutonium (e.g. MOX).

    A dissymmetric RN,N-dialkylamides of formula (I) in which: R 1 represents a linear C 1 to C 4 alkyl, R 2 represents a linear C 1 to C 10 alkyl, and R 3 represents a linear or branched C 6 to C 15 alkyl, where R 3 is different from a n-octyl, n-decyl, n-dodecyl, 2-ethylhexyl and 2-ethyloctyl group when R 1 represents a n-butyl group and R 2 represents an ethyl group.     The-use of carbamides as extractants for fully or partially separating uranium(VI) from plutonium(IV) in an aqueous solution obtained by dissolving a spent nuclear fuel in nitric acid, by method of liquid-liquid extraction, without carrying out any reduction of the plutonium(IV) to plutonium(III). The invention also relates to new carbamides. Uses are the processing of spent nuclear fuels based on uranium (especially uranium oxides—UOX) or uranium and plutonium (especially mixed uranium and plutonium oxides—MOX).

    L'invention se rapporte à l'utilisation de carbamides en tant qu'extractants pour séparer totalement ou partiellement l'uranium(VI) du plutonium(IV) à partir d'une solution aqueuse issue de la dissolution d'un combustible nucléaire usé dans l'acide nitrique, par extraction liquide-liquide, et ce, sans procéder à une quelconque réduction du plutonium(IV) en plutonium(III). Elle se rapporte également à de nouveaux carbamides. Applications: traitement de combustibles nucléaires usés à base d'uranium (notamment d'oxydes d'uranium –UOX) ou d'uranium et de plutonium (notamment d'oxydes mixtes d'uranium et de plutonium –MOX).
