4-Nitrophenyl-N-alkylcarbamates (1) as active site-directed irreversible inhibitors of pancreatic cholesterol esterase are investigated for values of the dissociation constant (Ki), the carbamylation constant (k2), and the bimolecular rate constant (ki).
