A variety of 1-benzyl-3-heterocyclic pyrazoles were rapidly assembled by a two-step N-benzylation/Suzuki coupling sequence. A one-pot variation of this sequence is demonstrated. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
The invention is based on the discovery that compounds of formula (I) possess high affinity for Alk 5 and/or Alk 4, and can be useful as antagonists thereof for preventing and/or treating numerous diseases, including fibrotic disorders.
