The invention describes the use of particular cross-linking reagents containing 1-hydroxybenzotriazole or 1-hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole groups as reactive groups for cross-linking reactions of supramolecular target-ligand-complexes. The resulting cross-linked products may be directly analyzed using mass spectrometry, gel or fluorescence based technologies, X-ray crystallography, NMR or other analytical technologies.
