A process for producing a clear sulfur-containing polymer by polymerizing a composition containing a (meth)acrylate monomer bearing sulfur in the molecule, which process comprises conducting radical polymerization of a composition containing 0.1-7.0 wt.% of at least one member selected from among radical chain transfer compounds and radical scavenging compounds based on the whole composition. The process can provide a polymer which is reduced in coloration, has a high total light transmittance, is resistant to yellowing in its use, and has a high refractive index and a light weight.
