An unusual Câ¯Ï interaction of non-hydrogen bond type has been found for the first time in ethyl (2Z)-2-cyano-3-[(3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenyl)amino]prop-2-enoate and is rationalized by ab initio computations as being the result of electrostatic interactions. The database analysis has shown its scarcity.
