    This invention is related to a vinyl chloride resin as obtainable by graft-copolymerizing an acrylic copolymer (a) having a mean particle diameter of 60 to 250 nm with a vinyl monomer (b) predominantly composed of vinyl chloride, said acrylic copolymer (a), being obtainable by graft-copolymerizing 40 to 90 weight % of a copolymer (a-1) with 10 to 60 weight % of a mixture monomer (a-2), said copolymer (a-1) being composed of 100 weight parts of a radical-polymerizable monomer which gives a homopolymer having a glass transition point of not lower than -140 °C but lower than -60 °C and 0.1 to 1 weight part of a polyfunctional monomer, and said mixture monomer (a-2) comprising 100 weight parts of a radical-polymerizable monomer predominantly comprised of a (meth)acrylate which gives a homopolymer having a glass transition point of not lower than -55 °C but lower than -10 °C and 1.5 to 10 weight parts of a polyfunctional monomer.

    A comb copolymer viscosity modifier may be made by polymerization comprising at least, or consisting essentially of, the following monomers: (a) a hydrogenated polybutadiene-based (alk)acrylate ester macromonomer (which repeat units may comprise from 7.0 wt% to 18 wt% of the repeat units of the comb copolymer viscosity modifier); (b) a C3-C8 alkyl (alk)acrylate ester monomer (which repeat units may comprise from 40 wt% to 71 wt% or from 45 wt% to 64 wt% of the repeat units of the comb copolymer viscosity modifier); and (c) a C12-C24 alkyl (alk)acrylate ester monomer, wherein repeat units based on the C12-C24 alkyl (alk)acrylate ester monomer comprise at least 21.0 wt% (and optionally up to 35.0 wt%) of repeat units of the comb copolymer viscosity modifier. Lubricant compositions comprising the comb copolymer viscosity modifier, as well as uses thereof and methods for modifying viscosity, are also contemplated herein.

    A vinyl chloride resin composition which provides, with a small load on the molding machine, a product excellent in impact resistance, gelation properties and heat stability, and in addition, having superior appearance and dimensional stability is provided. In particular, a core-shell polymer composition for modifying vinyl chloride resin, which provides the vinyl chloride resin composition, is provided. The core-shell polymer composition for vinyl chloride resin composition comprises (A) 85 to 99.5 % by weight of a core-shell polymer containing a rubbery polymer and (B) 15 to 0.5 % by weight an acid or anionic surfactant, and the core-shell polymer composition has a specific viscosity (&eegr; sp ) of at least 0.1 when measured at 30° C. by using a 0.2 g/100 ml acetone solution of a portion soluble in methyl ethyl ketone and insoluble in methanol of said core-shell polymer composition.
