OH−/Silica-Mediated One-Pot Synthesis of Dithiocarbamates Under Solvent-Free Conditions

An efficient, versatile, and environmentally benign method for the synthesis of dithiocarbamates under solvent-free conditions is reported. The Michael addition of electron-deficient alkenes with alkyl or aryl amines and CS2 in the presence of OH-/silica in a one-pot three-component reaction protocol gave the corresponding dithiocarbamates in good to excellent yields. This method is suitable for a wide range of amines and a variety of Michael acceptors in solvent-free conditions. The results of the present work show the desired products in excellent yields.
Synthesis of symmetricalsubstituted 2,5‐diamino‐1,3,4‐thiadiazoles is described. Reaction of easily prepared dithiocarbamates with hydrazine gives the corresponding thiadiazoles in moderate to good yields. This method is new, efficient, and simple especially in the work‐up procedure.

A new and facile protocol for the synthesis of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles in water is described. Reaction of acid hydrazides with easily prepared dithiocarbamates gives the corresponding thiadiazoles in moderate to excellent yields. 2-Amino-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were not observed as side products using this procedure.

A rubber composition from which a vulcanized rubber simultaneously improved in three characteristics of oil resistance, cold resistance and ozone resistance can be obtained, and a molded article using the vulcanized rubber are provided. The rubber composition contains 50 to 99 parts by mass of a chloroprene rubber containing 0.01 to 20% by mass of an unsaturated nitrile monomer unit and 1 to 50 parts by mass of a non-conjugated diene rubber. The chloroprene rubber can contain a rubber A containing 1 to 40% by mass of an unsaturated nitrile monomer unit, 40 to 99% by mass of a chloroprene monomer unit, and 0 to 20% by mass of another copolymerizable monomer unit, and a rubber B containing 80 to 100% by mass of a chloroprene monomer unit and 0 to 20% by mass of another copolymerizable monomer unit. The vulcanized rubber using the rubber composition can be suitably used as a molded article such as a rubber member for an automobile, a hose and a rubber molded article.

An efficient synthesis of dithiocarbamic acid esters from Michael addition of electron-deficient alkenes with arylamines and CS2 in solid media alkaline Al2O3 was presented. This method was suitable for a wide range of amines and a variety of Michael receptors. Specially, a series of aryldithiocarbamic acid esters was obtained from arylamines through this method. The protocol offers clean reactions and high yields with simple experimental procedures. Besides, the alkaline Al2O3 could be reused. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
