Metal-Free Hydrophosphanation of 1-Vinylimidazoles with Secondary Phosphanes: A Straightforward Atom-Economic Route to Tertiary Phosphanes with Imidazolyl Substituents
Free radical addition (UV irradiation, 2―7 h or AIBN, 65―70 °C, 6―7 h) of secondaryphosphanes to 1-vinylimidazole, 2-methyl-1-vinylimidazole, and 1-vinylbenzimidazole proceeds regioselectively to give the corresponding anti-Markovnikov adducts in 88―98% yields.
