The approach allows the first total syntheses of pyroclavine, pibocin A, 9-deacetoxyfumigaclavine C, and fumigaclavine G and also enables the efficient synthesis of festuclavine, costaclavine, epi-costaclavine, and dihydrosetoclavine.
