Abstract Two novel coordination polymers, [Cu(PDCO) · (H2O)]n(1) and [Cd(PDCO)(bipy) · (H2O) · 5H2O]n(2), (H2PDCO = pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid N-oxide, bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
