The present invention relates to a solid catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins CH
2
═CHR in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical with 1-12 carbon atoms, comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and an electron donor selected from substituted succinates of a particular formula. Said catalyst components when used in the polymerization of olefins, and in particular of propylene, are capable to give polymers in high yields and with high isotactic index expressed in terms of high xylene insolubility.
The present invention provides an olefin polymerization catalyst, which is free of polyfunctional aromatic compounds and has a large particle diameter, and a solid titanium component (I) which forms the catalyst. The olefin polymerization catalyst comprises a solid titanium component (I), an organometallic compound (II) and optionally an electron donor (III) wherein the solid titanium component (I) comprising titanium, magnesium and halogen is obtainable by allowing a magnesium compound (A) having no reducing ability in a liquid state to contact with an ester compound (B) represented by the following formula (1) and a liquid titanium compound (C) in a specific order,
wherein R2 and R3 are COOR1 or R, and at least one of R2 and R3 is COOR1, two or more R1 each are a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and two or more R are a hydrogen atom, or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and at least two of Rs may be bonded each other to form a ring, and the skeleton of the ring formed may include a double bond or a hetero atom.

Provided are a solid titanium catalyst component for ethylene polymerization which can polymerize ethylene at a high activity and which can provide an ethylene polymer having an excellent particle property, an ethylene polymerization catalyst and an ethylene polymerization method in which the catalyst is used.
The solid titanium catalyst component (I) for ethylene polymerization according to the present invention is obtained by bringing a liquid magnesium compound (A) including a magnesium compound, an electron donor (a) having 1 to 5 carbon atoms and an electron donor (b) having 6 to 30 carbon atoms into contact with a liquid titanium compound (C) under the presence of an electron donor (B) and includes titanium, magnesium and a halogen. The ethylene polymerization catalyst of the present invention includes the component (I) and an organic metal compound catalyst component (II). Further, the ethylene polymerization method of the present invention is a method for polymerizing ethylene under the presence of the catalyst.

An object of the present invention is to provide a propylene resin composition having high processability to stably produce films, and a sealant film for retort pouch-packaging films prepared with the propylene resin composition and having high seal strength. The object is achieved by a propylene resin composition, comprising: a propylene homopolymer, and a propylene-ethylene copolymer dispersed in the propylene homopolymer, the propylene resin composition being prepared through polymerization of propylene and ethylene in the presence of a catalyst comprising:
(A) a solid catalyst containing, as essential components, magnesium, titanium, halogen, and an electron donor selected from succinate type compounds,
(B) an organoaluminum compound; and
(C) an external electron donor selected from silicon compounds, wherein the propylene resin composition contains 25 to 35 wt% ethylene-propylene copolymer,
the copolymer contains 60 wt% or more propylene,
the propylene resin composition contains a xylene-soluble content having an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 1.8 to 3.2 dl/g, and
the propylene resin composition has a melt flow rate of 2.0 to 5.0 g/10 min.
