developed to synthesize biaryls from substituted acetophenones, phenylacetones, dihydrochalcone, and 2-acetylnaphthalene in reasonably good yields at room temperature via a domino reaction sequence of AlCl3 catalyzed cyclization, dehydration, and then oxidation.
