Imine radicals or enamine radicals generated by manganese acetate [Mn(OAc)3] or copper acetate [Cu(OAc)2] can be oxidized by the same metallic salts to produce α,β-unsaturatedimines or α,β-unsaturated enones in good yields.

Cyclic enamines were oxidized by manganese acetate [Mn(OAc)3] and copper acetate [Cu(OAc)2] to produce α,β-unsaturatedimine, azadiene and aniline derivatives depending on the ring size.
