Two Novel Supramolecular Complexes Built by 2-propyl or 2-p-methoxyphenyl Imidazole Dicarboxylate Ligands

Two complexes, [Cu(H2PIDC)2(H2O)] (H3PIDC = 2-propyl- 1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid) (1) and [Co(H2MOPhIDC)2 (H2O)2] (H3MOPhIDC = 2-p-methoxyphenyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid) (2), have been hydro(solvo)thermally synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, PXRD, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both two complexes show three-dimensional supramolecular structures supported by intermolecular H-bonds. The thermal properties of the two complexes have been investigated as well.
