  Several 3,5-dimethyltris(pyrazolyl)methane iron(II, III) tricyanide building units have been prepared and characterized. Treatment of K[(HC(3,5-Me(2)Pz)(3))Fe-II(CN)(2)(K(+)1(-)) with Fe-II((HO)-O-2)(6)(BF4)(2) affords a new anion template cubic cyanometallate cage [(BF4) subset of {Fe-II(H2O)}{(HC(3,5-Me(2)Pz)(3))Fe-II (CN)(3)}(4)](BF4)(3) 3.
