  A diphenyl ether derivative of the formula: wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen group, a nitro group, a formyl group, a hydroxyl group, a lower alkyl group which may be unsubstituted or substituted, a lower alkoxy group which may be unsubstituted or substituted, a lower alkylthio group which may be unsubstituted or substituted or lower alkylsulfonyl group which may be unsubstituted or substituted, an aralkyl group which may be unsubstituted or substituted or an aryloxy group which may be unsubstituted or substituted, with proviso that all of Rl, R2, R3 and R4 cannot represent a hydrogen atom at the same time; m is an integer of 1 or 2; n is an integer of 1 to 5; X and Y each independently represent oxygen atom, sulfur atom or an imino group which may be unsubstituted or substituted with a lower alkyl group; A represents a straight or branched alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms; and B represents a heterocyclic group containing at least one nitrogen atom as the hetero atom, processes for preparing the same and insecticides and acaricides containing the same as active ingredient.
