  The reaction of bromoacetophenone with triparatolylphosphine in chloroform solution gives Hooch (p-tolyl)(3)}(I); then reaction of this new ylide with mercury (II) halides (HgCl2, HgBr2, Hgl(2)) in equimolar ratio leads to pure compounds of [(p-tolyl)(3)PCHCOC6H5}HgCl2](2) ( II). [(p-tolyl)(3)PCHCOC6H5}. HgBr2](2) ( III), and [(p-tolyl)(3)PCHCOC6H5}Hgl(2)](2) (IV) complexes. The IR (HC)-H-1-C-13, and P-31 NMR together, with microanalysis data of the products, were obtained.
