  [Pt2Cl2(mu-X)(mu-Y)(PR3)2] complexes [X = Cl, SPh; X = Y = SPh, Pr(i); PR3 = PBu3, PMe2Ph, PPh3, P(p-tol)3] have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, H-1 and P-31 NMR spectroscopy. Bridge cleavage reactions with various donor ligands have been investigated by P-31 {H-1} NMR. The X-ray crystal structure of [Pt2Cl2(mu-Cl) (mu-SEt)(PMe2Ph)2] is reported.
