intermediate organolithium complexes with chlorotrimethylsilane. The corresponding titanium complexes were synthesized in excellent yields from reactions of the trimethylsilyl derivatives with TiCl4. The titanium complexes were evaluated as styrenepolymerizationcatalysts in toluene solution when activated by methylaluminoxane. The once cleaved carbon-carbon bond of the Cp moiety in 2 was recombined in indene products. Aslo, we propose a novel mechanism for the cleavage of the carbon-carbon bond of the Cp moiety.
