An NHC−NiI catalyst promotes regio- and stereoselective coupling of polarized terminal olefins with benzyl chlorides to afford trisubstituted borylalkenes and styrenes. The reaction proceeds through branched-selective Heck-type benzylation followed by trans-selective allyl isomerization.
