  of vinyl sulfides and unsaturated nitriles via quaternary phosphonium salts have been established. The reaction of isopropylidenetriphenylphosphorane with S-ethyl thiobenzoate or substituted S-ethyl thiobenzoates afforded vinyl sulfides and triphenylphosphine oxide in good yields.
