A novel complex [Ag(NIT3Py)(3)]center dot(H2O)(ClO4) has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction methods. It crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group R-3. The structure consists of Ag(NIT3Py)(3)(+) moiety, one water molecule, and one perchloric ion. The Ag(I) ion is in a trigonal planar environment, which is formed by three nitrogen atoms from three NIT3Py. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal the occurrence of weak ferromagnetic interactions in the compound.
