  The reaction of divalent (ArO)(2)Sm(THF)(3) . THF with phenyl isocyanate directly gives a bimetallic complex [(ArO)(2)(DME)Sm](2)[mu-eta(4)-(PhN)OCCO(NPh)]. 4THF (ArO = 2,6-di-tertbutyl-4-methylphenoxo) via one-electron reduction and coupling reactions. In this complex, the deprotonated N,N'-diphenyloxamide ligand bridges two units of (ArO)(2)(DME)Sm with C(5)-C(5*), Sm-N and Sm-O(1) bonds of 1.43(2), 2.549(8) and 2.318(7) Angstrom, respectively.   The title complex, bis(2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl-phenolato-O)tris(tetrahydrofuran-O)samarium tetrahydrofuran solvate, [Sm(C15H23O)2(C4H8O)3].C4H8O, has distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry around the Sm(II) atom. The 0(2), 0(3) and 0(4) atoms of the thf ligands form a plane and the 0(1) and 0(5) atoms of the aryl groups occupy the apical sites. The Sm-OAr distances Sm-O(1) and Sm-0(5) are 2.318 (7) and 2.290 (9) angstrom, respectively.
