This invention relates to a method for producing a compound of the formula (II)
wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently represent hydrogen or a hydrocarbon group that may be substituted; R4 represents acyl; m and n are independently 0 or 1 or a salt thereof, which comprises subjecting a compound of the formula (I)
wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, m and n are as defined above; R5 and R6 independently represent a hydrocarbon group that may be substituted; or a salt thereof to a reduction reaction, by which the objective compound can be obtained under mild conditions and in good yield.
