  (EN) The invention relates to novel, therapeutically active acid, salt, ester and amide derivatives of a 5-membered ring fused benzene of formula (I), wherein R is selected from hydroxy, (C1-4)alkoxycarbonylmethoxy, (C1-4)alkylamino, cyclohexylamino; phenylamino optionally substituted by halogen; (C1-4)alkoxycarbonylmethylamino, 1-(C1-4)alkoxycarbonyl-2-phenylethylamino, pyrrolidino and N-(C1-4)alkoxycarbonylpiperazino; and X stands for oxygen or methylene, with the proviso that X means oxygen when R stands for hydroxy; and their salts formed with H2 receptor antagonists, when X means oxygen and R stands for hydroxy, as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing the above compounds. The invention relates also to a process for the preparation of the above compounds and compositions. The compounds of formula (I) show significant gastrocytoprotective and gastric acid secretion inhibitory activities. In addition, they possess an antibacterial activity against the pathogenic bacterial strain Helicobacter pylori. Thus, they are useful for the prevention and/or healing of various ulcerative diseases of the digestive system (oesophagus, stomach and duodenum).(FR) Nouveaux dérivés, à activité thérapeutique et sous forme d'acide, de sel, d'ester et d'amide, d'un benzène à cycles pentagonaux condensés, répondant à la formule (I), dans laquelle R est sélectionné parmi hydroxy, alcoxy(C1-4)carbonylméthoxy, alkyl(C1-4)amino, cyclohéxylamino; phénylamino éventuellement substitué par halogène; alcoxy(C1-4)carbonylméthylamino, 1-alcoxy(C1-4)carbonyl-2-phényléthylamino, pyrrolidino et N-alcoxy(C1-4)carbonylpipérazino; et X représente oxygène ou méthylène, à condition que X représente oxygène lorsque R représente hydroxy; leurs sels formés avec des antagonistes du récepteur de H2, lorsque X représente oxygène et R représente hydroxy; et compositions pharmaceutiques contenant les composés précités. On a également prévu un procédé de préparation des composés et compositions précités. Les composés de la formule (I) présentent des activités significatives de gastro-cytoprotection et d'inhibition de la sécrétion d'acide gastrique. En outre, ils présentent une activité antibactérienne dirigée contre la souche bactérienne pathogène $i(Helicobacter pylori). De ce fait, ils sont utilisables dans la prévention et/ou le traitement de diverses maladies ulcératives de l'appareil digestif (÷sophage, estomac et duodénum).
