We have synthesised a series of amphiphilic spin probes containing two nitroxide-functionalised lipophilic branches connected by a disulfide group. The sensitivity of EPR spectroscopy to the interactions between the radical centres in these bisnitroxides makes it possible to monitor the thiol-disulfide exchange reaction in colloidal assemblies.
