  (EN) Methods and compositions are provided for synthesizing peptides with sulfonyl protecting groups. In the subject methods, a sulfonyl group $g(a)-amino protected amino acid is contacted with a second amino acid monomeric unit under coupling conditions so that hte protected amino acid and second amino acid monomeric unit are joined by a peptide bond. The contacting step may be repeated one more additional time to obtain a peptide of desired length. Also provided are methods of site specific modification using the subject sulfonyl protecting groups. The subject methods find particular use in methods of solid phase peptide synthesis.(FR) L'invention a trait à des techniques, ainsi qu'aux compositions afférentes, permettant une synthèse de peptides et ce, en faisant intervenir des groupes protecteurs sulfonyle. Selon cette technique, on met en contact un acide aminé protégé par un groupe protecteur sulfonyle, utilisé en tant que groupe protecteur $g(a)-amino, avec un second motif monomère aminoacide dans des conditions de couplage telles que l'acide aminé protégé et le second motif monomère aminoacide soit liés par une chaîne peptidique. Cette étape de mise en contact peut être répétée quelques fois afin d'obtenir un peptide d'une longueur désirée. L'invention concerne également des techniques de modification spécifique de site faisant intervenir les groupes sulfonyle susmentionnés. La technique de l'invention se prête particulièrement bien à la synthèse peptidique en phase solide.
