The synthesis of a polymer supported chiral oxazolidine aldehyde is described. This intermediate has great potential for the synthesis of biologically interesting compounds. A solid phase stereoselectivesynthesis of an array of chirally pure β-lactams in high purity is described as a first application of the system.
