  Abstract A facile, rapid, efficient, and column chromatography-free protocol for the synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran derivatives via a one-pot three-component reaction using MgSO4 in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) has been achieved. This protocol has a simple experimental procedure, good functional group tolerance, broad substrate scope, and high yields in a short reaction time.
