The acetohydrazide derivative reacted with carbon electrophiles such as acid chlorides, acetylacetone, ethyl acetoacetate and aromatic aldehydes to give some interesting heterocyclic compounds. The hydrazide derivative reacted with acetophenone which in turn underwent Vielsmeier-Haack reaction.
