  The synthesis of the new high density energetic compound 4,8-dinitro-12H-[1,2,5]oxadiazolo[3,4-e][1,2,5]oxadiazolo[3',4':4,5]benzotriazolo[1,2-a]benzotriazol-13-ium inner salt 1,11-dioxide (7) was achieved in three steps (37% yield) from 2,4,8,10-tetranitrobenzotriazolo[1,2-a]benzotriazolo-6-ium inner salt(4). The compound 7 was found to be thermally stable up to 274 degrees C and was insensitive to impact (hammer/anvil test).
