The subject is to provide a liquid crystal composition that includes a polymerizable compound and satisfies at least one of characteristics such as a high maximum temperature, a low minimum temperature, a small viscosity, a suitable optical anisotropy, a large negative dielectric anisotropy and a large specific resistance; and a AM device that has characteristics such as a small rate of screen burn-in, a short response time, a low threshold voltage, a large voltage holding ratio, a large contrast ratio and a long service life.
Means for Solving the Subject
The means are a liquid crystal composition including the compound (1) and the compound (2), and a liquid crystal display device containing the composition:
wherein P1 and P2 are polymerizable group; the rings A, B, C and E are 1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,4-phenylene and so forth; the ring D is 2,3-difluoro-1,4-phenylene and so forth; Z1 and Z2 are alkylene and so forth; L1, Z3 and Z4 are a single bond and so forth; R1 and R2 are alkyl and so forth; and q, r and s are 1 and so forth.
