  [Ru(bpy)(trpy)L]PF6 complexes, where trpy is 2,2':6',2 " -terpyridine, bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine, and L is a phenylcyanamido derivative, have been prepared and characterized. Spectroelectrochemistry permitted an analysis of the Ru(III)-cyanamido chromphore of these complexes. These results were compared to those of the analogous pentaammineruthenium(III) complexes.
