Abstract The new tetrathiafulvalene-functionalized bispyrazole ligand ( L ) and the corresponding tricarbonylrhenium(I) complex ( 4 ) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Their absorption spectra and redox behaviors have been recorded, and the absorption spectral changes of L upon addition of NOPF 6 have also been studied in detail.

A neutral electrochemical chemosensor 1 based on TTF exhibited high selectivity for H2PO4− over a wide range of anions and the significant C–H⋯O hydrogen bonding between CC–H of the TTF unit and H2PO4− played an important role in regulating the selectivity.

A redox active dinuclear complex [Yb(tta)2(L1)(L2)]2·1.4(CH2Cl2) displays single molecule magnet behaviour with MJ = ±7/2 ground state. The anisotropic barrier Δ is evaluated by the three dc data fit, ac analysis and emission spectrum demonstrating the correlation between magnetic and optical properties.

The mechanism of anion recognition has been investigated by 1H NMR titration and DFT calculations. A Novel Multisignaling Optical-electrochemical Chemosensor for Anions Based on Tetrathiafulvalene
A multisignaling optical-electrochemical receptor for anions based on a triad with anthracene and TTF units was prepared. It showed a unique selectivity for fluoride ion over various anions with dramatic fluorescence enhancement in neutral condition and displayed a special recognition of H2PO4- in electrochemical studies with remarkable cathodic displacement of the first oxidation potential (E-ox(1)) of the TTF unit.
